NooCube Brain Productivity version 3.0 bottle, official product image

NooCube is the caffeine-free brain supplement that turns up in many lists of the best nootropics. But do 12 ingredients in two capsules reach the amounts the research used, and is the 60-day guarantee as simple as it sounds? To find out, we've checked all 12 amounts against the published studies, read both of NooCube's refund pages, and looked at what expert reviewers and buyers say.

In this review

What's good, and what isn't

Pros

  • Theanine (100 mg) is within the doses used in studies that showed a benefit
  • Bacopa (250 mg) and the marigold extract (20 mg) reach their benchmark amounts, although in extracts we can't match to the trials
  • Fortune chose it as its focus pick with 4 out of 5, and Nootropics Expert rates it 4.5 out of 5 for effectiveness

Cons

  • Ginseng is 20 mg against 200 mg in its studies, and tyrosine and resveratrol are well short too
  • The 60-day guarantee keeps a 5% handling fee, and NooCube's two refund pages give different terms
  • Buyers rate it 2.8 out of 5 across 16 ratings on Trustpilot, all for the UK store, and it isn't sold on Amazon

Why NooCube scored 3.7 out of 10

  • Dose fit40%26

Theanine reaches the bottom of its studied range. The marigold extract and bacopa reach theirs in milligrams with extracts we can't match to the trials, so they earn half credit. Tyrosine, ginseng and resveratrol fall short, by 135.7 mg to 1,750 mg, and six more have no studied range on file, so they earn nothing for dose.

  • Evidence30%24

Evidence only counts in full when the dose matches the studies. Bacopa's research is strong, but we can't confirm NooCube's extract matches the trials', and the ginseng, tyrosine and resveratrol trials used several times NooCube's amounts.

  • Transparency20%95

All 12 amounts are printed, with extract ratios and the bacoside strength, and there are no blends. The marigold extract is listed by weight, not by how much lutein and zeaxanthin it contains.

  • The homepage says the brand has spent "100s of $1000s of dollars in 3rd party testing," but we found no lab report on the site, no published human trial of NooCube, and no NSF listing.

Worked out under method audit-v2.0. How the rating is built

Score history
  1. Oct 23, 2026 First audit published

We checked the label, compared each dose with the human research and published the review.

NooCube's 3.7 rests largely on printing all 12 amounts, although only six of them have research ranges we can compare. Of those six, theanine just reaches the bottom of its range, and the marigold extract and bacopa reach theirs in milligrams but in extracts we can't match to the trials, so they earn half credit. Tyrosine, ginseng and resveratrol fall short by 135.7 mg to 1,750 mg, which is where most of the points go, and the other six earn nothing for dose because we have no research range on file.

The homepage talks about spending "100s of $1000s of dollars in 3rd party testing," but we couldn't find a lab report, a published human trial or an NSF listing, so verification scores zero. We'd happily raise the score for a bacopa extract confirmed to match the trials, ginseng, tyrosine and resveratrol at the amounts the studies used, and a lab report you can read.

The claims, checked

Official NooCube Brain Productivity version 3.0 bottle, from the brand's homepage
Official product image. View official source

The version 3.0 facts label on the site matches all 12 amounts in our records.2 Two capsules make a serving, with 30 servings in the 60-capsule bottle. One oddity is the bacopa, which the homepage lists as a "12:1" extract while the label gives only the 20 percent bacoside figure.1

The homepage recommends two capsules daily with water, preferably in the morning, with or without food. The other ingredients are microcrystalline cellulose, a hypromellose capsule, maltodextrin, silica and vegetable magnesium stearate. There's no caffeine, and the homepage describes version 3.0 as suitable for vegetarians. The bottle doesn't claim to be gluten-free, although the homepage says the old oat straw was dropped because it contained gluten.1

“Price Per Serving** $1.29”

Partly

The homepage's comparison table gives this figure, with a footnote saying it's "based on biggest saving packages."1 Bought one time, even the five-bottle pack works out a cent higher, and only if you pay for five months up front. On subscription the five-bottle pack does come in under it, so the figure is reachable, but only on the three- or five-bottle subscription. A single bottle costs $2.17 a serving.

“Choline From Vita-choline® 250 Mg”

Partly

The homepage's ingredient list gives this amount,1 but the label identifies 250 mg of VitaCholine choline bitartrate supplying 100 mg of choline, or 18 percent of the Daily Value.2 The 250 mg measures the compound rather than the choline you get.

“A randomized, double-blind, placebo study of 59 healthy individuals were each given Lutemax® 2020 for a full 12 months.”

Doesn't hold up

The homepage's "Confirmed Study" box says this, next to the claim that Lutemax 2020 is "proven to improve attention, verbal memory, processing speed, and even stress response."1 The 59-person trial in its source list ran for six months, not 12, in adults aged 18 to 25 taking 13 or 27 mg of the carotenoids a day.19

NooCube lists 20 mg of marigold extract without the lutein and zeaxanthin amounts,2 so we can't tell whether a serving matches what those volunteers took.

“We have spent 100s of $1000s of dollars in 3rd party testing and re-testing to prove that our formula works with stellar results.”

Unverified

The statement appears in the homepage's guarantee section,1 but we found no lab report on the site, and the usual addresses for one return a not-found page.

A PubMed search finds no human trial of NooCube.6 The one paper that mentions it is a 2021 lab-dish study that tested 21 memory supplements against brain plaque and tangle proteins, written by a company comparing them with its own product, and it predates version 3.0.37 NSF doesn't list NooCube either.5 Whatever testing sits behind that statement, it hasn't been published.

“Our formula doesn't require a doctor's prescription and is easy-to-digest with no known side effects.”

Doesn't hold up

The FAQ gives this answer to "Is Noocube Brain Productivity™ Safe?"1 Bacopa is the biggest ingredient by weight, and in a 12-week trial of 98 adults over 55 it caused stomach cramps, nausea and more frequent bowel movements than placebo.11 Those effects are mild, but they're known.

“You are still covered by our 100%, 60-day money-back guarantee, which you won't find anywhere else.”

Partly

The homepage makes this promise,1 while the guarantee page asks you to email support@noocube.com for a return authorization. You then return any unopened products along with the used ones within 60 days, and the refund covers the product price minus a 5 percent handling fee, with shipping excluded.3

The separate refund-policy page allows 67 days. It asks for the first two empty bottles plus any unopened ones on multi-bottle orders, and only "the unused bottles" on a single order, with no handling fee mentioned.4 Mind Lab Pro and Qualia Mind also offer money-back guarantees, so "you won't find anywhere else" is only partly true.

Theanine provides 100 mg, the bottom of its research range. A 2026 analysis of 31 randomized trials found faster choice reaction time after one 200 mg dose.13 In a four-week trial of 30 adults on 200 mg a day, verbal fluency and executive function scores rose, but only verbal fluency, in the people who started lowest, beat placebo.14 NooCube gives you half the 200 mg most of the research used.

Bacopa provides 250 mg of an extract with 20 percent bacosides, while the 300 mg extracts in the 12-week trials contained 40 to 55 percent.1011 That gives you 50 mg of bacosides a serving, against 120 mg or more in the studies, assuming the two percentages were measured the same way, so we can't confirm the extract matches the trials'. Single doses of 320 mg and 640 mg improved scores on two attention tasks within two hours in a 2014 trial of 17 healthy adults.44 A 2014 analysis of nine trials lasting 12 weeks or more found faster attention on a trail-making test and choice reaction time.12 The trial in 98 adults over 55 also recorded stomach cramps, nausea and more frequent bowel movements with bacopa than placebo.11

Lutein and zeaxanthin come from 20 mg of marigold flower extract sold as Lutemax 2020. That's the weight of the extract, and the label doesn't give the lutein and zeaxanthin amounts inside it.2 The trial the homepage relies on gave 59 young adults 13 or 27 mg a day of the carotenoids themselves for six months, and memory, attention and processing speed improved.19

A 2022 trial gave 90 adults aged 40 to 75 with memory complaints 10 mg of lutein and 2 mg of zeaxanthin daily for six months. Visual memory and learning improved over placebo, but the other tests didn't change.20 Both studies measured the effect after six months.

Tyrosine provides 250 mg, 1,750 mg less than the smallest amount that helped in studies, where doses were measured in grams. Working memory during multitasking improved in a 1999 study using 150 mg per kilogram of body weight, or about 10 g for an average adult.15 Higher doses weren't always better, as a 2017 study in older adults found slightly worse working memory after single doses of 100 to 200 mg per kilogram.16

Study dose benchmark from Reay 2005, 200 or 400 mg, single dose17

Ginseng comes as 20 mg of an 8:1 concentrate, which the label and homepage both call equivalent to 160 mg of ginseng powder.12 The trials used 200 mg and 400 mg of G115, an extract made to a set strength rather than powder, so the bottle's 20 mg is 180 mg short of the smaller dose. Among 30 young adults, one 200 mg dose improved a mental arithmetic task and reduced mental fatigue.17 Over eight days, 400 mg improved calmness and arithmetic, but 200 mg slowed arithmetic.18

NooCube has 14.3 mg. The study dose we use as this ingredient's benchmark is 150 mg, so it's 135.7 mg short.22

Study dose benchmark from Thaung Zaw 2020, 75 mg twice a day, 12 months22

Resveratrol provides 14.3 mg. A 14-week trial in 80 women after menopause found that resveratrol improved verbal memory and overall cognitive performance.21 The same team's 24-month trial gave 125 women 75 mg twice a day,22 and that 150 mg a day is the benchmark we use, so NooCube's amount is less than a tenth of it. A 2014 study matched 23 older adults taking 200 mg a day for 26 weeks with 23 on placebo and found better word recall.23

Also on the label are choline bitartrate 100 mg, cat's claw 175 mg, pterostilbene 140 mcg. We have no verified human dose range on file for these, so they stay in the formula count, earn nothing for dose and only a small fixed credit for evidence, which lowers the score.

Also on the label are vitamin B1 1.1 mg, vitamin B12 2.5 mcg, biotin 50 mcg. These have no cognitive dose range for people who aren't deficient, so they don't count toward the formula score.

How we choose the studies and set these ranges

Cat's claw, choline and pterostilbene have no research range on file, so they earn nothing for dose and only a small fixed credit for evidence. The cat's claw studies we found used lab dishes, mice and rats,2425 and the only human trial we found for pterostilbene looked at safety at 100 to 250 mg a day, while NooCube provides 140 mcg.26

Choline comes from 250 mg of VitaCholine choline bitartrate and amounts to 100 mg, or 18 percent of the 550 mg Daily Value.229 The B vitamins sit close to or above their Daily Values, with B1 at 92 percent, B12 at 104 percent and biotin at 167 percent. B12 hasn't been shown to help memory in people who aren't low in it,2728 and B1 and biotin have no research range on file.

Every amount is printed, along with the bacoside strength and extract ratios, so you can check these comparisons yourself. The exception is the marigold extract, whose weight is given without the amounts of its lutein and zeaxanthin.

The products that share the most cognitive ingredients with NooCube are shown first. Any product sharing at least two can be added.

Mind Lab Pro is the obvious comparison, since it's also caffeine-free. It shares bacopa, theanine and tyrosine with NooCube, then adds 250 mg of citicoline at an amount used in studies, plus 100 mg of phosphatidylserine. Its bacopa is 150 mg, though, against NooCube's 250 mg. At $2.30 a serving direct, it costs 13 cents more than a single bottle of NooCube.

Nooceptin is another caffeine-free option at $2.23 a serving from its own site, with 200 mg of theanine and 200 mg of ginseng against NooCube's 100 mg and 20 mg. Alpha Brain comes up next to NooCube in a lot of searches, but it hides most of its amounts in blends, so the two can't be compared dose for dose. Our Alpha Brain review covers what its label does and doesn't tell you.

NooCube's case is the multi-bottle price, no caffeine and a label you can check. If you'd rather have amounts closer to the studies, Mind Lab Pro and Nooceptin cost about the same as a single bottle.

Price and where to buy

NooCube sells direct from noocube.com, where one bottle cost $64.99 when we checked, or $2.17 a serving.1 The three- and five-bottle packs, sold as "2 BOTTLES + 1 FREE" and "3 BOTTLES + 2 FREE," bring the cost a serving down, and a subscription takes 15 percent off any of them. The store's banner reads "FREE SHIPPING OVER $79.99," so a single bottle pays for shipping and the bigger packs don't. Orders are capped at five bottles per household.

You won't find it on Amazon from the brand. NooCube's Amazon storefront carries only NooCube NAD+, and the one listing called Brain Productivity belongs to another brand.7 That also means there's no Amazon rating to go on. NooCube's site shows a handful of named testimonials rather than a review count, Trustpilot has no reviews of noocube.com, and the 16 for the UK store are the only independent ones we found.89

What studied amounts cost separately

This section compares NooCube with buying each of its ingredients on its own, one bottle per ingredient, at the dose the studies started from. We've chosen each bottle for quality rather than the lowest price. Theanine is the one ingredient where NooCube already reaches the studies, and the marigold extract and bacopa reach theirs in extracts we can't match to the trials.

Our summary of the video

He took the older formula for a couple of weeks, felt slightly more focused and alert for a few hours, called the price high for the ingredients and doses, and suggests it mainly for people who care about brain health and want a mild lift in focus.

Reviews of version 3.0 are mixed, and the critical ones point to low doses. Innerbody rated it 3.4 out of 5 after two weeks and wrote that "a majority of the ingredients are underdosed when compared to successful studies."31 Nootropics Expert scores it 4.5 out of 5 for effectiveness in its comparison with Mind Lab Pro, but concludes that "Mind Lab Pro's formula is more effective overall in enhancing cognitive function."40

Fortune chose it as its focus pick with 4 out of 5, although its tester took it for one day and noticed no change.32 SOMA Analytics gives no score but calls it its "no.1 rated nootropic overall" after a month's trial.33 Illuminate Labs analyzed the label without taking it and doesn't recommend NooCube in its key takeaway, although its conclusion calls it "somewhat likely to have a nootropic effect."34 Your Inception's video and WholisticResearch's 4.8 out of 5 review both describe the older ingredients with alpha-GPC, so their ingredient notes don't match the current bottle.3536

Safety notes

With no caffeine, NooCube won't add to what you get from coffee. Bacopa is the ingredient most likely to bother you, through an upset stomach, so taking it with food is worth trying, although no trial compared the two and the homepage says you can take it either way.111

Two of the smaller ingredients matter if you take medication. Ginseng might lower blood sugar and interact with some medicines, so ask your doctor first if you have diabetes,38 and cat's claw might interact with blood thinners and blood pressure drugs.39 No published study covers this combination. Speak to a doctor first if you take medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a health condition. We're researchers, not doctors.

Final thoughts

NooCube is a caffeine-free capsule with all 12 amounts printed, which is more than many brain supplements manage. Only theanine reaches the bottom of its research range in full, though, and while the marigold extract and bacopa get there, it's in extracts we can't match to the trials. Ginseng, tyrosine and resveratrol come in 135.7 mg to 1,750 mg below the studies, and nothing published backs up the talk of testing.

If the five-bottle price and a stimulant-free label are what you're after, NooCube does that, and the guarantee lets you try it. If you want amounts closer to the research, Mind Lab Pro or Nooceptin get you there for about the same as one bottle. Whichever you choose, read both of NooCube's refund pages first and keep the empty bottles, and bear in mind that the 60-day guarantee ends long before the six months the lutein trials ran.

FAQ

Does NooCube contain caffeine?
No. It has no caffeine or other stimulants, so it adds nothing to the coffee you drink.
How many capsules do you take?
Two a day, with water, preferably in the morning, with or without food. The 60-capsule bottle holds 30 servings.
Is NooCube clinically proven?
No. The ingredients have been studied, but we found no human trial of NooCube itself, and most amounts are lower than the studies used, with tyrosine, ginseng and resveratrol 135.7 mg to 1,750 mg short.
Does NooCube have a money-back guarantee?
Yes, with conflicting terms. The guarantee page gives 60 days, deducts a 5 percent handling fee and excludes shipping. The refund-policy page gives 67 days and asks for the first two empty bottles back on multi-bottle orders.
Is NooCube third-party tested?
We couldn't verify it. The homepage mentions spending on "3rd party testing," but there's no published lab report, and NSF doesn't list the product.
What changed in NooCube version 3.0?
VitaCholine replaced alpha-GPC, and ginseng replaced oat straw. The older label still shown in the store's images also lists huperzine A, which isn't on the current label.
Is NooCube sold on Amazon?
Not by the brand. Its Amazon storefront sells only NooCube NAD+, and the listing called Brain Productivity on Amazon belongs to another brand.
How long does NooCube take to work?
Theanine acts within an hour in the studies. The bacopa trials measured their effects after 12 weeks and the lutein trials after six months, which says nothing about sooner but is the timescale behind those results.
NooCube or Mind Lab Pro?
Both are caffeine-free. One bottle of NooCube costs $2.17 a serving and gives you more bacopa. Mind Lab Pro costs $2.30 and adds citicoline at an amount used in studies, plus some phosphatidylserine.
