Thesis Stress Reset Review 2026
James BevanUpdated October 29, 2026
Thesis Stress Reset is the caffeine-free calming blend in Thesis's lineup, built around Shoden ashwagandha, Zembrin and saffron. But are those the forms and amounts the trials used, and is a month of it worth the price? To find out, we've checked its five actives against the published studies, read the lab certificates Thesis links and its refund terms, and looked at what reviewers and buyers say.

What's good, and what isn't
Pros
- Shoden ashwagandha (120 mg) and Zembrin (25 mg) are at the amounts their own trials used
- No caffeine in the standard version, with every amount and standardization printed
- Buyers rate it 4.8 out of 5 across 71 ratings on Thesis's own site
Cons
- The 28 mg of saffron is a generic extract, not the affron the trials used, and the rhodiola is 140 mg short
- Dihydrohonokiol-B has no human trial, and the certificates cover raw ingredients, not the finished capsules
- Thesis's Amazon store sells only the caffeinated version, and the refund covers your first order only
Why Thesis Stress Reset scored 4.8 out of 10 in our scientific audit
- Dose fit40%54
Shoden ashwagandha and Zembrin reach their studied amounts. Saffron reaches its amount as a generic extract rather than the branded one the trials used, so it earns half credit. Rhodiola falls 140 mg short in a different form, and dihydrohonokiol-B has no studied range.
- Evidence30%28
Shoden and Zembrin have small trials at these amounts, most funded or supplied by their makers. Saffron's mood research is good but for other extracts, and rhodiola's research is for a different form.
- Transparency20%90
Every amount and standardization is printed. It loses points because Thesis's own labels disagree, with 84 mg of magnesium on the pouch and 64 mg on the product page, and the page's ingredient list leaves out the vitamin D.
- Testing10%0
Thesis links raw-material certificates, some issued by the suppliers themselves, but none for the salidroside or the finished capsules, and Stress Reset isn't listed by NSF.

Score history
Oct 29, 2026 First audit published (4.8)
We checked the label, compared each dose with the human research and published the review.
We think 4.8 is fair, and it hides a formula that's better than its score in one way. The two ingredients with real trial support, Shoden ashwagandha and Zembrin, are both at the amounts their own trials used. The score drops because the rest don't match the research. The saffron is a different extract from the trials', the rhodiola is a different form at 30 mg, and dihydrohonokiol-B has no human trial at all.
Evidence is the weakest part. Shoden's and Zembrin's trials were small, and their makers funded or supplied most of them, so even the well-dosed ingredients only earn preliminary grades. Testing scores zero too, because Thesis links certificates for raw ingredients rather than for the finished capsules.
The claims, checked

The pouch's panel lists two capsules a serving and 25 servings, with every amount and standardization printed, and the other ingredients are a vegetable cellulose capsule, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide.20 The ingredient list on the product page still leaves out the vitamin D, although the panel images beside it include it.123
The directions don't agree either. The pouch says two capsules in the morning and "Do not take more than 2 capsules in a 24-hour period," while the product page says to adjust between one and three capsules.201 We'd follow the pouch.
“83% of people reported reduced stress levels”
PartlyThe product page shows this with a footnote, and it comes from an open-label survey in November 2025 of 30 customers who'd taken Thesis for at least 30 days and got store credit for answering.1 There was no placebo group, and the refill listing still shows figures from a 2024 survey of Confidence, the blend Stress Reset replaced.1
“Week 1 Feel more grounded, fast. L-Theanine and Zembrin promote calm focus and balance”
Partly“third-party tested”
PartlyThe badge is on the product page, which links certificates for the raw ingredients.1 They're material reports from 2023 and 2024, several issued by the ingredient suppliers themselves, and the Zembrin lot's certificate expired in August 2026.345 There's no certificate for the salidroside, the vitamin D or the finished capsules, and Stress Reset isn't listed by NSF.6
“If you don't feel 50% improvement in your cognitive focus area within 30 days, we'll refund you for your entire purchase.”
PartlyThe product page promises this.1 The dated refund policy is simpler and better for you. It gives a full refund including shipping, for any reason, within 30 days of delivery, but only on your first order, and you don't have to send anything back.2 The help center adds a 45-day guarantee for orders from Thesis's Amazon store.22
“Clinically-proven, powerhouse ingredients for game-changing benefits”
PartlyThat's the heading over the ingredient list.1 Shoden and Zembrin have trials at these amounts, although they're small, and the makers funded or supplied most of them.912 The saffron is a different extract from the trials, dihydrohonokiol-B has no human trial, and we found no trial of Stress Reset itself.26
What's inside, audited
5 ingredients checked, 2 within range, 1 short, 1 above the range or at half credit, 1 with no studied range.
Within range (Shoden ashwagandha, Zembrin). Short (rhodiola). Above the range or at half credit (saffron). No studied range (DHH-B).
Shoden root and leaf extract, 35% withanolides · Preliminary evidence
Doses used in studies that showed a benefit
Thesis Stress Reset has 120 mg, inside the 60 mg to 240 mg used in studies that showed a benefit.925
Study dose benchmark from Mishra 2024, 60 or 120 mg a day, 60 days9
Ashwagandha comes as 120 mg of Shoden, a root and leaf extract standardized to 35% withanolide glycosides, and Thesis's lab certificate for its lot measures 36%.3 That's within Shoden's own research range of 60 to 240 mg a day. A 2024 trial gave 60 stressed adults 60 or 120 mg a day for 60 days and found lower anxiety, stress scores and morning cortisol,9 and a 2020 trial found better sleep quality in 150 adults after six weeks at 120 mg.8 A third trial, at 240 mg, found lower anxiety scores and cortisol.25 Shoden's maker funded that one and supplied the capsules for the 2024 trial, and its milligrams don't compare one for one with other ashwagandha extracts.
Zembrin is 25 mg, the amount in its trials. In a three-week study of 21 healthy adults, it improved scores on mental flexibility tests,12 and in another, a single 25 mg dose eased anxiety in 20 young adults during a stressful lab task.13 They're small trials, but the dose and the branded form both match.
extract, 7.5% crocins and 1% safranals, not affron · Moderate evidence
Doses used in studies that showed a benefit
Thesis Stress Reset has 28 mg, the lowest daily dose used in studies that showed a benefit, but the label doesn't confirm the form or extract those studies tested, so it earns half credit.10
Study dose benchmark from Lopresti 2025, 28 mg a day, 12 weeks10
Saffron is 28 mg, the amount used in the largest saffron trial, where 202 adults with low mood took affron for 12 weeks and improved more than on placebo.10 Thesis's certificate shows a different extract, standardized to 7.5% crocins and 1% safranals,4 and another branded extract helped mood in 56 healthy adults at 30 mg a day.11 Those extracts aren't interchangeable, so we give it half credit.
SalidroPure fermented salidroside, not the root extract the studies used · Moderate evidence
Doses used in studies that showed a benefit
Thesis Stress Reset has 30 mg. The study dose we use as this ingredient's benchmark is 170 mg, so it's 140 mg short.24
Study dose benchmark from Darbinyan 2000, 170 mg a day, 2 weeks24
Rhodiola is 30 mg of SalidroPure, a fermented salidroside, not the SHR-5 root extract the trials used. That's 140 mg short of the 170 mg benchmark, from a two-week trial of night-shift physicians,24 and even the 100 mg that helped students during exams was called probably too low by its own authors.14 At this amount and in this form, it earns very little.
Also on the label is DHH-B 10 mg. We have no verified human dose range on file for DHH-B, so it stays in the formula count, earns nothing for dose and only a small fixed credit for evidence, which lowers the score.
Also on the label are vitamin D 125 mcg, magnesium 84 mg. These have no cognitive dose range for people who aren't deficient, so they don't count toward the formula score.
Dihydrohonokiol-B is a compound from magnolia bark whose calming effects have only been studied in animals, and we found no human trial of it.15 Magnesium and vitamin D aren't scored, because they're nutrients rather than nootropics. The pouch prints 84 mg of magnesium from 600 mg of bisglycinate, but the panels on the product page say 64 mg, so Thesis's own labels don't agree.2023 The vitamin D is 125 mcg, or 5,000 IU.20

The products that share the most cognitive ingredients with Thesis Stress Reset are shown first. Any product sharing at least two can be added.
Few products we've audited share Stress Reset's calming ingredients. Qualia Mind comes closest, with saffron and more rhodiola than Stress Reset, but it's a caffeinated focus formula with no ashwagandha or kanna, at $7.95 a serving. From the same company, Thesis Motivation costs the same but is built for energy rather than calm.
If it's the ashwagandha you're after, Shoden at 120 mg is easy to buy on its own, and the list further down prices it. That's the most direct way to get the best-supported part of Stress Reset.
Price and where to buy
Thesis sold a month's supply for $129.00 as a one-time order when we checked, which is $5.16 a serving, and the price is the same with or without caffeine.1 That's one of the higher prices per serving we've audited. The subscription is much cheaper, with a reduced first box and a lower monthly price after it, delivered every 25 days.1
Thesis also sells Stress Reset through its own Amazon store, as a refill pouch or a kit with the jar, but the listing there is the caffeinated version.7

What other reviewers say

Lift Big Eat Big
Written review, all four formulas for 60 days · No byline printed · Mar 19, 2026
“Thesis has standout formulas and excellent ingredient choices but the high price and limited dosage transparency make it hard to fully recommend.”

Innerbody Research
Best-of list entry · Dan Min, medically reviewed by Matt Segar, MD · Updated Sep 13, 2026
“Stress Reset is the best of Thesis’ current lineup.”

Outliyr
Written review, a few weeks of use · Nick Urban · Updated Nov 13, 2024
“Confidence is an ideal anti-stress supplement.”
Only two of the reviews we found cover the current Stress Reset. Lift Big Eat Big took all four Thesis formulas for 60 days and says this one "worked best in the afternoons when mental fatigue typically accumulates," giving Thesis 3.5 out of 5,17 although it calls the 120 mg of ashwagandha low when that's the dose Shoden's own trials used.9 Innerbody's best-nootropics list calls Stress Reset "the best of Thesis' current lineup."18 Most other Thesis reviews, including Outliyr's, describe Confidence, the blend it replaced.19
What buyers report
Safety notes
Zembrin works partly by blocking serotonin reuptake, the way many antidepressants do, so ask your doctor before taking Stress Reset if you take an antidepressant or anything else that affects serotonin.16 The 125 mcg of vitamin D is above the 100 mcg, or 4,000 IU, daily upper limit the NIH gives for adults,21 so count it with any other vitamin D you take.
The pouch says not to take more than two capsules a day and not to use it if you're pregnant, nursing or under 18.20 The caffeinated version adds 100 mg of caffeine. If anxiety is getting in the way of your life, it's worth talking to a professional rather than relying on a supplement. We're researchers, not doctors.
Final thoughts
Stress Reset gets two things right, Shoden ashwagandha and Zembrin at the amounts their trials used, in a capsule with no caffeine. What it isn't is a fully studied formula, since the saffron is a different extract, the rhodiola is a token amount in a different form, one ingredient has no human trial, and no report covers the finished capsules.
If you want those two ingredients together and you'll try it on a subscription, the first-order refund gives you a fair way out. If you take an antidepressant, talk to your doctor first, and if you buy on Amazon, check that you're getting the version you want.
